About the event

On 11 and 12 July 2026 there will be another edition of the Birthday Toast for Tomasz Stanko — an event celebrating the work and achievements of one of the most important and most recognizable figures of European jazz.

We are extremely proud that this year, for the first time, Pardon, To Tu will be part of such an important jubilee.

The program will connect two cities of particular importance in the artist's life: Rzeszów, where it all began, and Warsaw — his home, place of work, meetings, returns and musical presence for decades to come.

Admission to all events of the Birthday Toast for Tomasz Stańko is free. For After Toast in SPATIF there is a symbolic ticket for PLN 10.

The Rzeszów edition of the event will take place on July 11 in the Courtyard of the Lubomirski Castle. The evening will be opened by British composer and trumpeter Laura Jurd with the project “Rites & Revelations”. The second point of the program will be the performance of Marcin Masecki and his “Blues Suits”, which will sound in a nine-member line-up. During the concert there will also be a musical reference to Tomasz Stańko — his form remains open and will be decided only on stage, between Masecki and the band.

A day later, on July 12, the energy of Toast will move to Warsaw. It was here that Tomasz Stańko lived, created, met musicians and co-created the contemporary cultural identity of the city for many years. Warsaw was his home, a place of return and work, as well as an important space for his musical presence. Journalist and columnist Łukasz Kamiński put it perfectly: “Warsaw is a city that remembers its heroes. Tomasz Stańko, although he was a citizen of the world, gave a significant part of his life, his heart, to Warsaw.”

The Warsaw program will begin in the artist's apartment/studio at Rozbrat Street. From 12:00 to 17:00 there will be Toast u Tomasza - an intimate part of the event, during which you will be able to enter the private world of Tomasz Stańko: a space preserved almost in its original shape, with a piano, partitions, old carpets and everyday traces of presence. Visitors will be accompanied by piano miniatures played by Grzegorz Tarwid.

At 14:00 the Toast in Motion will start — a musical journey through Warsaw. The route will lead from the club Jassmine through Pardon, To Tu, SPAtif and Rydza-Śmigły Park to Tomasza Stańko Square. The clubs on the tour will feature artistic activities, visual accents and music inspired by Tomasz Stańko's work. The march will be accompanied by the Stańko Street Band led by Łukasz Korybalski.

The final of the Warsaw part of the event will take place at 18:00 at Tomasz Stańko Square. In the program: solo from the window performed by the trumpeter Laura Jurd, a solo percussion performance by Tymek Papior and a concert by Marcin Masecki and Ziv Ravitz “For Tomasz”. The green space of the square — quiet and a little hidden on a daily basis — will become a place of joint listening, meeting and birthday celebration.

In the evening, Toast will move to SpatiFu, where at 21:00 After Toast will begin — a concert and jam conducted by Kuba Więcka under the slogan “Stankoization of Polish Jazz”.
