TOGETHERING SCORES — Two-day workshop with Alice Chauchat

On 5 and 6 September, from 10:00 to 16:00, we invite you to a guest lesson with Alice Chauchat, an intensive 2-day workshop organized by the Burdąg Foundation.

During the workshop, Alice will share her Togethering Scores, which have been both the subject and the method of her research for more than ten years. These scores capture co-presence as an intense, though indirect, focus on what lies beyond us and on the relationships between us. As a space in which the unknown is accommodated and gets a response. Often taking the form of stories, supernatural relationships are proposed as portals to enter the dance. These stories evoke at the same time a similarity that can never be proven, and a disproportionate difference. We get close to each other, never reaching. Totally the same and completely different. The workshop is open to people with different mobility abilities. Requires a good understanding of spoken English.
Alice Chauchat

a Berlin dance artist who also works in pedagogy and is involved in many ways in inventing and developing the field of contemporary dance. He creates structures of common thinking and working, writes, directs institutions and, through dance practice, reflects on the politics and ethics of otherness and of being together. She has created plays with Anne Juren, Alix Eynaudi and Frédéric Gies, among others. She has collaborated and performed with Jennifer Lacey, Xavier le Roy, Juan Dominguez and Mårten Spångberg, among others. Together with Mette Ingvartsen, Petra Sabisch, Eleanor Bauer and Ellen Söderhult, among others, she developed everybodys and nobody's dance, projects designed to help dancers learn more from each other. As director of Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers, she learned about the ways in which institutions can support artistic research. She was a visiting professor at the HZT Berlin and at the University of Giessen. Together with Jennifer Lacey, she led Teachback, a research project dedicated to the possibility of mutual unlearning in art and education. This conversation continues. In 2015, she graduated from the Amsterdam Master in Choreography and joined the first group in THIRD, a partner environment of the third cycle of education at The Theaterschool in Amsterdam. Her works meet and create audiences on stage, in museums, in dance halls and in urban spaces.

The laboratory is a separate building located a few steps from the Ujazdowski Castle on its southern side (the former building of the historic Arsenal).

The Wojciech Krukowski Hall is located on level +1, there is an elevator in the building.
