How do we today look at a common history of Togo and Germany characterized by colonial inequality? And how can new perspectives and relationships emerge from the collection? The exhibition “Togo: Making New Connections” brings together the historical collection, contemporary art and contemporary perspectives from Togo. In conversation, participating scientists and artists provide insights into their work and share their views. What stories does the collection tell — and what questions does it ask us today? How can contemporary art open up new spaces for interpreting our shared history?
NHé'are circular conversations that invite the exchange of knowledge, experiences and perspectives. The term comes from the Guarani language and describes, among other things, the word, the voice and the language, but also the spirit.
