Nordkraft Big Band with Sinne Eeg and Jesper Lohmann
Together with Denmark's uncrowned jazz queen Sinne Eeg and seasoned actor Jesper Lohmann, Nordkraft Big Band takes audiences into the world of Tom Kristensen. Tom Kristensen lived in a jazz age in 1920s and 1930s Copenhagen, where jazz was the tone of the time, and as a true connoisseur he wrote about life, dreams and greatness.
Now his poems are set to music, and we move into the noisy taverns and smoky cafes for a poetic evening of swinging big band music and good spirits. On stage, Sinne Eeg and Jesper Lohmann stand in front of the fabulous Nordkraft Big Band with Grammy-nominated conductor Peter Jensen, who has also arranged the music composed by Bjarne Sahl.
The performance is centered around the collection of poems Fribytterand depicts the free-swinger's odyssey through the night life of Copenhagen - a searching soul who wonders if it is permissible to pose outside society and simply describe it.
