Tonja from Glimmerdalen

Take a look at the small village of Glimmerdalen, where the little bully Tonja lives, who believes in herself and does not give up when something is important to her. She is brave, feisty, and at the same time warm and caring for others. She is associated with classic heroines like Pippi Stockings, Heidi or Ania Shirley.

The author of the novel “Tonja from Glimmerdalen” is Maria Parr, hailed as the new Astrid Lindgren. Her book is about a child living in harmony with nature, in a world where social roles are not obvious and where children have something to say. The play was directed by Karolina Maciejaszek, winner of numerous awards, including twice the Golden Mask of Łódź, and in 2020 the Grand Prix of the Mała Boska Komedia festival in Krakow for the play “Rutka” based on the book by Joanna Fabicka. The play “Tonja from Glimmerdalen” won the Grand Prix of the 26th edition of the International Festival of Theatres for Children and Youth KORCZAK TODAY in October 2022
