Good-natured and deaf old woman Marion Leatherby is one day given away by her son Galahad to an old people's home. The Sanctuary of Light is run by Dr. Gambit and his wife with a firm hand. Eccentric pensioners, in principle, are deprived of all liberties. But the ferment of the revolution is growing, the rebellion of the old men is inevitable. The real apocalypse is coming. This is a surreal tale of regaining freedom presented by a wandering theater from fragments of the old world.

From reviews:

“A dazzling adaptation of a surreal epic about loneliness in old age and the late, but not belated, recovery of freedom. It is a gripping, analog spectacle, built with elements of street theater, slapstick, pantomime and even circus. A delightful world is created here by patchwork scenography and fascinating costumes, music played and sung live and masterful acting - they all carry out very demanding tasks, giving the impression that it is fun” (Przemysław Gulda, guldapoleca).

“A trumpet to listen to is a big, brilliantly performed ensemble, prepared with momentum, very energetic performance, perversely valuing old age: as a time when you can — however trite it may sound, secondary — start life anew. On their own terms and in defiance.” (Kamil Bujny, teatrologia.info).

Warnings:

in the play, the theme of faith, religion and superstitions is touched upon.
