What connects a camera and a fire extinguisher with the old custom of sprinkling salt in the corners of the house or putting a lightning rod in the window? We will talk about how the house and its inhabitants were protected in the past, and how today we take care of the safety of people and monuments. We will also consider what gestures and objects we associate with a safe home. We will use these associations in our own artistic works.
Meetings at a friendly pace are a series of four meetings combining acquaintance with museum objects with conversation and artistic activities. We will look at the old ways of protecting the house, gilded candlesticks and contour belts. Through these items we will talk about safety, light and the importance of clothing — things that belonged to the everyday life of the former inhabitants, and in various forms accompany us.
The event is implemented as part of the project “Art is health. Availability of Wawel with TAURON”, co-financed by TAURON Polska Energia S.A.
