After almost two years of radio silence, TRÄNEN return with their second album “Life in a Cat”, which will be on the “Earth is My Dream” tour 2027 next year in February. Tickets are available on Thursday, 18.06.2026, from 23:59 at traenen-shop.com.

Gwen Dolyn and Steffen Israel are announcing an album that sounds bigger, more poppy, more radical and more vulnerable than anything the band has done so far. “Life in a Cat” will be released on October 30, 2026 by Eklat Tonträger/ Warner and is an album about belonging, longing, anger and love — told through the perspective of an alien being, about visitors to other planets and about people who don't feel at home on Earth. But it is not just escapism. The foreign perspective sharpens the view of reality.

In this album environment, there is wit, irony, talking cats, nocturnal fields, old flying objects, whipping barbed wires and sweaty butts. At the same time, the album openly asks about love, shame, desire, anger, body, loneliness, justice and a world in which you can and want to stay.

“Living in a cat” is a rejection of a contemporary pop that claims vulnerability but rarely risks anything. TEARS are not interested in feelings that are alleviated before they can become violent and therefore dangerous. Her songs look for proximity without slipping off. They ask big questions without immediately debunking them with irony. And then people laugh out loud.

The first single “Chrom im Wald” will be released on Thursday, 18.06.2026, at 23:59. At the same time, tickets for the “Die Erde ist mein Traum” tour 2027 are also available and the new album “Life in a Cat” can be pre-ordered at traenen-shop.com.
