Both days are from 11:00 to 15:30, - with subsequent opportunities to work until 18:00 under the guidance of Aleksander Glich - and with the assistance of potter Bjarne Christensen.
During the course, Aleksander Glich will review the methods he uses in the production of his works, - the twisting, composition and deconstruction, as well as tell about the thoughts, ideas and analysis that lie behind the course - here, as the artist himself describes the course:
“The workshop will focus on section throwing as a technique of introducing spontaneity into a designed form. Fundamental shapes of cylindrical bottle and spherical moon jar will be analyzed from the perspective of deconstructing them by bringing out their constituent elements. Deelnements will be introduced to the methods and aesthetics of assembling thrown shapes that the artist has learned and developed during his studies and apprenticeships in Korea, Poland and France. Povrati.”
Aleksander Glich works around the issues involved, but it should be emphasized that the methods, - and the ideas behind the work, are equally addressed to those who may work with modeled subjects. An extremely inspiring and rarely offered course, - few seats so first come first served.
About the artist:
Aleksander Glich holds a Master's degree from the Polish Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design, and a Master's degree in Polish Literature from the University of Warsaw. Aleksander Glich has subsequently been apprenticed to the Korean ceramist Seungho Yang, in his workshop in Taen, South Korea, and has also worked in La Borne in France. Currently Aleksander Glich works at Guldagergård, International Ceramic Research Center.
Aleksander Glich's works have been exhibited in Poland, Korea, France and he is participating with works at this summer's ClayTopia, Guldagergård.
