About the event

October 16 (Friday), 7:00pm “Tribute to Juan D'Arienzo” music and dance performance prepared under the direction of Uruguayan choreographers Stefania Colina and Juan Martín Carrara.

Tickets included: 35 PLN/person seat at the table (limited number of seats), 30 PLN/person seat in the stands.

After the sold-out premiere in July, “Tribute to Juan d'Arienzo” returns to the Rozbark Theater in Bytom. The second edition of the show will take place on October 16, 2026.

The performance is a tribute to Juan d'Arienzo, one of the most important creators and popularizers of Argentine tango, whose distinctive, dynamic musical style still inspires dancers around the world to this day.

The performance was choreographed by Stefania Colina and Juan Martín Carrara, an extraordinary pair of Uruguayan dancers and choreographers. Since winning the Intercontinental Tango Championship in 2009, they have performed and taught around the world, combining an international career with activities to advance the Uruguayan tango scene.

Since 2023 they have been the general directors and choreographers of the Uruguayan National Tango Ballet — Ballet Nacional de Tango (Uruguay). The formation, created by them, brings together professional tango artists from different parts of the country and aims to create new opportunities for dancers and increase the presence of tango on the most important stages of Uruguay.

Stefania Colina and Juan Martín Carrara also collaborate with the Teatro Solís in Montevideo, the most important theater scene in Uruguay. In recent years they have presented their dance performances there, including “Tango: Lo que nos Une” with the orchestra La Juan D'Arienzo, “Tiempo Tango” with Sexteto Álvaro Hagopian and singer Ricardo Olivera and “Noche de Garufa” with the Tango Bardo orchestra.

It was they who created the choreography “Tribute to Juan d'Arienzo”. During the October edition, Juan Martín Carrara will be in charge of preparing the dancers and directing the performance.

The actress of the Rozbark theater Julia Lewandowska will also sing in the performance.

The special character of the event will also be created by the space itself. 80 seats will be placed at tables around the dance floor, thanks to which the audience will be able to watch the dancers up close. It is a reference to the atmosphere of the Buenos Aires milong — places where tango is not a distant spectacle, but happens right next door, between tables, with music and in direct contact with the audience. The remaining seats will be in the traditional auditorium of the Rozbark Theater.

After the performance, the evening can be continued during a milonga in the nearby May Dance School at 29 K. Miarki Street in Bytom. Milonga starts at 9pm.
