Ostaniec is a quartet founded in Warsaw in 2023 by trumpeter, composer and arranger Radosław Mosurek.

The name of the complex refers to the limestone rock formations characteristic of the Krakow-Częstochowa Jura. The culture and music of this region are one of the sources of inspiration for the project.

Ostaniec combines original contemporary jazz with elements of native folk music and inspirations from contemporary European and Scandinavian jazz.

During the Mrowna Jazz Festival 2026, the band will present material from their debut album, making the concert one of the premiere events of the festival.

GRAND FINALE MROWNA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2026

The fourth edition of Tribute to Polish Jazz will be the largest original production of this year's festival.

The project was created on the initiative of Tomasz Mązielewski during the first edition of the Mrowna Jazz Festival. His idea from the beginning was not to faithfully reproduce historical recordings, but to rediscover Polish music.

TTPJ reaches into Polish jazz, fusion and ambitious entertainment music and creates new, extensive arrangements using a large rhythm section, keyboards, extensive wind section, vocals and invited soloists.

REPERTOIRE 2026

The fourth installment will bring many new arrangements prepared especially for this year's program.

A special place is occupied by the work of Czesław Niemen — TTPJ will present new elaborations of several of his works.

The program will also feature music by Stanisław Soyka and Andrzej Zaucha and Michał Urbaniak. There will be no shortage of Polish fusion and compositions related to the legendary Walk Away formation.

The project will also go in a less obvious direction, reaching for Karin Stanek's repertoire and presenting it in its own way.

On one stage, different decades and different worlds of Polish music will meet — song, jazz, funk, fusion and improvisation.

The idea of Tribute to Polish Jazz remains not to reproduce Polish music, but to allow it to live again in a contemporary sound.
