“In view of Sofie Rud's job change to the US embassy, after careful consideration we have had to change the speaker for this lecture. We have been fortunate to have Associate Professor Niels Bjerre Poulsen come and talk about the same topic.”
When Americans go to the polls in November's midterm elections, it's far more than a routine election -- it's a defining moment for America's political future. The balance of power in Congress is at stake, and so too is the president's power to act. But how robust is American democracy, and how far can a president go to circumvent the system?
With more than 25 years of research on American history and politics, Niels Bjerre-Poulsen is one of Denmark's leading experts. As an associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark, he conveys complex contexts clearly, in a nuanced and engaging way.
The practical information lecture is organized in cooperation with Kulturforeningen Liv i Sundby, and is held at Ørestad Library.
The ticket price for non-members is 75 kr. The ticket price for members is 30 kr.
