We invite you to the premiere on November 14 at 17:00!
Our reading of “The Three Pigs” takes a well-known story into the realities of modern neighborhood conflicts and... repair disasters.
Wolf appears here as a cunning developer who sells pigs their dream homes. The problem is that on the site they find only... empty plots. Deceived and left to themselves, they have to roll up their sleeves and build houses from scratch.
However, this is only the beginning of the trouble. Character differences and neighborhood biases quickly make themselves felt, and the hired construction crew represents all the worst — and at the same time the most comical — in renovations. The show draws inspiration from, among others, the cult series “Neighbors” and the film “Sami swoi” and looks with humor at the mechanisms of neighborhood conflicts. It shows how easy it is to create a storm about a trifle and how difficult it is to take the first step towards consent.
However, when the Wolf appears on the horizon again, the pigs face a much more serious challenge. Will they continue to build walls and nurture mutual resentments, or will they realize that in the face of the real threat, they can achieve more together than separately?
“The Three Pigs” become the same story about building — not just houses, but above all, relationships. Told in the language of puppet theater and form, it amazes with its ingenuity, providing viewers with many theatrical surprises.
The show is directed by Lucia Vrana Svobodová, Slovak theatre actress, director, set designer and puppeteer.
