During the workshop we will look at the EL Gallery through the eyes of archaeologists. We will look for traces of its history and modernity - details, architectural elements and equipment that can tell something about the history and the present of this place. We will consider what is worth preserving for future generations and what in a few hundred years may become an important or intriguing trace of the EL Gallery.

About the event

During the workshop we will look at the EL Gallery through the eyes of archaeologists. We will look for traces of its history and modernity - details, architectural elements and equipment that can tell something about the history and the present of this place. We will consider what is worth preserving for future generations and what in a few hundred years may become an important or intriguing trace of the EL Gallery.

Selected fragments, symbols, textures, associations or our own interpretations will be transformed into original clay objects. Each participant will create an artifact that will tell about the EL Gallery seen in 2026.

Then we will move to the year 2526. The EL Gallery is no longer in the form we know today, and archaeologists find our clay objects. On their basis, they are trying to recreate the image of a place that existed five hundred years earlier. What image of the past will appear before their eyes?

The workshop combines an archaeological look at space, learning about the history of the EL Gallery and sculptural activities. It is an attempt to stop what seems important to us today before it becomes a trace of the past.
