We invite you to five-day clowning masterclasses for professional and novice stage artists, regardless of field. If you are involved in circus, performance, acting and want to develop your stage practice — this workshop is for you.
How to create a character that is truly ours? How to attract the attention of the audience, build tension and surprise? Clown training is not only learning to laugh, but also a tool for developing stage presence, discovering one's own language and searching for new ways of expression.
During the workshop, through improvisation, movement and work with emotions, we will discover the clown as a creator who can laugh at himself, take risks and draw inspiration from his own world.
We are not going to invent characters from scratch. We will look for that part of us that wants to play, experiment and create here and now. We will examine how our stories, weaknesses, insecurities and imperfections can become sources of humor and stage truth.
We will create a space for free experimentation, making mistakes and going beyond established patterns. We will dance, sing, exaggerate, dramatize and make the little things big, seeking inspiration to create characters and performances.
“Creative Fool” is an invitation to explore, not play. To develop stage courage, authenticity and creative freedom — whether the starting point is circus technique, movement, word or personal story.
Clémence Caillouel — performer, clown, director and theatre educator who works daily between Barcelona, Berlin and Normandy. In his work he combines experimental theater, performance and dark clowning. Her work is personal and sensitive, but it can also be extreme and grotesque — often funny, tragic and decidedly unobvious. In 2016, she founded La Volada Production, where she creates and produces her theater and clown productions, including “Paulina” (2016), “Le Chevreuil et Dalida” (2021) and “The Requiem of Sophie Withman” (2023). He has also appeared in projects by other artists and bands, including Tucan Riot (“No Way Out”), OFW (“— Tour”), CircoLiva (“Vermut Acrobático”) and Compañía Laboratorio Teatro (“Shakespeare y compañía”, “Allende”).
The artist is known to the Polish audience from this year's edition of the Carnaval Sztukmasterów, during which she presented the performance “The Requiem of Sophie Withman”.
