Capturing the Journey | Filming and Editing Workshops

How to tell about a trip with the help of a picture? Mateusz Jakubowski will show the participants how to film in order to turn ordinary moments of the trip into an interesting visual story. The workshop will cover the basics of recording and editing, and will result in your own short travel video.

Each participant must have a phone with the ability to record video

Since 2019, Mateusz has been traveling, recording and telling stories, collecting experiences both in front of and behind the camera. During the meeting, he will reveal how to create engaging material, how to record and edit well, what to look out for, and which online “rules” are better to take with a grain of salt.

It will be a practical dose of knowledge for anyone who wants to create video — whether they plan to record travel, talk, reportage, social media or just their daily stories. Without unnecessary theory, but with concrete examples, experience and tips that you can use right away.

Mateusz Jakubowski - a traveler from Szczecin, associated with travel since 2012, when he founded the website Taniezwiedzanie.com, where he presented the secrets of booking systems and showed ways to travel on a budget. After visiting more than 50 countries and publishing a travel book, he changed the written word for the camera in 2019, starting to document his travels on the vlog “In the footsteps of Polonia”. Since then, he has focused on his passion, traveling the world in search of descendants of the former Polish emigration. He has millions of views and recorded material in many countries, of which the most popular were those that depicted Polonia in Haiti, Brazil and Romania.
