At the end of the exhibition “The Word Embodied” we invite you to the final “feast” with Elżbieta Jabłońska. Together with the artist, we will first look at her works presented as part of the exhibition, and then meet around the table she has prepared.
Food in the work of Elżbieta Jabłońska has a special meaning, often becoming a material of art. This theme runs through activities such as “Through the stomach to the heart” (from 1999), “Kitchen” (2003—2004), “Sitting” (2004), “Accidental Pleasure” (2005—2006), “83 waiters and a helper” (2006) or “Kitchen — collection impossible” (2007) and combines everyday experience with reflection on social relations. Cooking, feeding and washing allow us to look at the division of responsibilities, the principles of hospitality and the work done for others. The artist is also interested in the pleasure of sharing food, as well as the effort involved in preparing it. A shared meal triggers contacts and at the same time reveals habits of frequenting, receiving treats, and helping. Through food, Jabłońska explores ways of being together: from sharing pleasure to negotiating responsibilities and dependencies. Taste, smell, effort and conversation become means of recognizing the social meanings of everyday gestures, also serving to exchange knowledge and personal stories.
We invite you to meet the artist in the exhibition space and feast together!
The Word Embodied exhibition is open to visitors until Sunday, 8.11.2026.
