From indie darling American-Jewish director James Gray comes an electrifying, high-stakes crime-thriller starring Hollywood A-listers Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller.
Gary and Irwin Pearl (Driver and Teller) are a pair of Jewish brothers who become entangled in a dangerous business deal with the Russian Mafia in 1980s Queens, New York. Meanwhile, Irwin’s wife Hester (Johansson) has her own serious health issues to deal with.
A sensation on this year’s festival scene, premiering at Cannes before screening at New York, BFI London, and Locarno, where James Gray received a lifetime achievement award.
