Ukraine! Film Festival: FOR THE VICTORY!

“For Victory” (For the Peremohu!) Directed by Valentyn Vasyanovych Ukraine, Lithuania, 2025, 105 minutes

In the near future, the war in Ukraine came to an end. Roman, a film director, stays in the country while his wife and daughter start a new life in Vienna. He is trying to get back to work and at the same time rebuild his relationship with his family. Valentyn Vasyanovych creates a personal, bitter and at times absurd story about Ukraine after the war. The film raises questions about the future of the country, memory, social divisions and the role of art in a world that is trying to be reborn. The main role is played by Valentyn Vasyanovych himself, one of the most recognized and talented Ukrainian directors, known for such films as Atlantis or Reflection.
