A tender choreography of dance and live music about being together — about home, community and hospitality in a divided world.
Until The Beginnings is a fascinating and visionary performance created by two outstanding directors and choreographers: Alessandra Seutin from Senegal and Stephanie Thiersch from Germany. They create an intense, multi-voiced choreographic mosaic, immersed in a world that constantly negotiates the boundaries of closeness, belonging and co-presence.
To the rhythm of the music of American rapper Shelly Quest and Senegalese drummer and master of the cortex Taranga Cissokho, a team of eight dancers from Senegal, Germany and France performs. Together they create a moving dialogue about the nature of hospitality.
Giving and receiving. Embracing, releasing, and experiencing boundaries. Artists embark on a journey to break down the concept of “being at home” — through encounters, breakups and new beginnings. In the dense fabric of the transcultural movement, they explore the possibility of finding a common groove, a rhythm that can connect different worlds without losing their diversity.
