Description of the show

On 25 October 2026, Kołobrzeg will host the performance “Suitcases” - a cultural project for European cities where migration has become a source of tension. Through modern circus, stories of real people and digital technologies, the project creates a space where residents and visitors can get to know each other better - so that conversation becomes possible.

On stage, the three artists tell their own migration stories through acrobatics, contact juggling and contemporary dance. The show lasts 45 minutes and is completely speechless: the body speaks directly to everyone in the audience. Recommended age - from 10 years old.

The project is implemented by Upsala-Circus - a German company of modern circus, which has been working for the benefit of young people and teenagers for 26 years.

“Suitcases” are our attempt to build a dialogue: to tell about our experience, our meetings and farewells, about the possibility of discovering something new in the world or mourning what we have lost. If our show could say one sentence to every city we visit, it would be: “We are here and we want to meet you.”

Larisa Afanasyeva, founder and artistic director of Upsala-Circus
