VII Nowosądeckie Dictation for the Pen of the Mayor of the City of Nowy Sącz — OPEN

The Mayor of the City of Nowy Sącz Ludomir Handzel and the Director of the Sącz Public Library Marek Rylewicz invite Ludomir Handzel to participate in the 7th Nowosącz Dictation for the Pen of the Mayor of the City of Nowy Sącz.

The event will take place on November 5, 2026 (Thursday) at 17:00 in the Stanisław Małachowski Representation Hall in the Town Hall of Novi Sącz.

The competition in the OPEN category is addressed to all lovers of the Polish language, without age restrictions. Persons registered in the city of Nowy Sącz or the district of Nowy Sącz can take part.

Nowosądeckie Dictation is an excellent opportunity to face the intricacies of Polish spelling, test your knowledge of spelling and punctuation rules, and, above all, to see that the Polish language — although demanding — can provide a lot of satisfaction and fun.

The author of the text of the dictation is Prof. Andrzej Markowski — an outstanding linguist, professor of humanities, popularizer of knowledge about the Polish language and author of numerous publications devoted to linguistic correctness.

Participants will not only have a language challenge, but also attractive prizes! The winner of the dictation in the OPEN category will receive the prestigious Pen of the Mayor of the City of Nowy Sącz Ludomir Handzel, as well as a cash prize of PLN 500!

To enter the competition, you must complete and sign the application form (Appendix No. 1) and then:

deliver it in person to the main building of the Sądecka Public Library at 11 Franciszkołska Street in Nowy Sącz, send it by e-mail to the address promocja@sbp.nowysacz.pl.

The deadline for accepting applications is November 4, 2026.

The official announcement of the winners of dictations in all categories and the presentation of the prizes to the Masters and Vice-Masters of Orthography will take place on 16 November 2026 during an author's meeting with Prof. Andrzej Markowski (5:30pm, Town Hall, Rynek 1, Nowy Sącz).
