I love science - Before the end of the year v. Lea Korsgaard

In the winter darkness on the first day of the year, Lea Korsgaard makes a list. She has set out to see all Danish butterfly species in a single year. She doesn't know anything about butterflies. She doesn't know why she wants to see them. She just knows that something is calling for her. It's like a suck.

The list with the butterflies leads her into landscapes she had no idea existed. She walks on ancient seabed and in hill covers made of algae skeletons. She is led to secret locations by people who offer their help. The hunt also leads into the world of books, philosophy and mythology. Ever since man began to ponder the meaning of life and death, the butterfly has symbolized the hope of rebirth — and confronted us with the greatest questions of existence:

Why are we alive?
And what do we live for?

About the lecturer:Lea Korsgaard is co-founder and editor-in-chief at Zetland and chairman of the board at DMJX. A trained journalist from SDU with sociology studies from New York, she has previously published successes such as' Orgasmeland 'and 'The One Who Shouts Lies'. Her most recent book is the natural philosophical and existential narrative 'Before the year is over' (2025).
