VIRTUOSO

During the concert, the winner of the 2nd prize of the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition — one of the most prestigious events in the world of contemporary violin art — will perform. This is a unique opportunity to get to know the artistic personality of one of the highest-rated young violinists and hear her in dialogue with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot.

The concert program takes you through the diverse faces of classical and romantic music. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Divertimento in F major KV 138 impresses with its lightness, clarity of form and elegance characteristic of the composer. Gerald Finzi's Romance Op. 11 brings an extraordinary lyricism and emotional subtlety to the program, revealing the more intimate side of the English composer's music.

The evening will be completed by Edvard Grieg's “Suite from Holberg's Time” — a graceful stylization of early music, in which the composer combined historical inspirations with his own recognizable musical language.

The joint performance of the winner of the prestigious competition with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot under the baton of Szymon Morus promises an evening full of musical finesse, youthful energy and top-class performance.

The concert takes place as part of the official Winners' Tour of the 17th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznań. The competition is organized by the Henryk Wieniawski Music Society and co-organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance with the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The winner's tour is coordinated by Sonora Music.
