TOC is a French jazz-core trio founded in 2008. Dense sound, raw physicality and bold trance states, underpinned by joyful, immersive tension, make up their energetic variety of improvised music. Noise, post-rock, psychedelia, experimental pop, krautrock or hardcore jazz — musicians love to blur boundaries and take listeners where they don't expect to go.
As the title of one of their albums suggests, TOC never plays the same thing twice. They are constantly starting over, changing the music under the influence of the experiences of subsequent tours. They spice up their mesmerizing free-pop with intoxicating grooves and a touch of kraut-jazz-core.
Their work includes expeditions to the acoustic regions of the Far North — Qeqertarsuatsiaat (2015) and The Theory of Constraints (2024) — and the sultry climates of the Louisiana swamps at Air Bump (2016). Rich in concerts, experiments and meetings, they return to the electric, urban sound. They invited, among others, Dave Rempis, Jean-Luc Guionnet and Paulina Owczarek, who will join them during this evening.
