About the event

During the matinee, two promising young violinists born in the third millennium will perform. Łucja Pych and Emilia Linka will perform stylistically diverse pieces: from Franz Schubert's classicizing roundabout to Franz Waxman's virtuoso fantasy on themes from Carmen. A lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and an outstanding chamber musician Krzysztof Stanienda will sit at the piano.

Both Emilia Linka and Łucja Pych are still learning violinists. However, each of them can already boast of prizes from dozens of competitions, cooperation with professional orchestras or participation in scholarship programs for young artists. The NFM audience will have the opportunity to see that the performance energy of children and young people is something completely different from that of adult musicians - especially since an extremely interesting repertoire has been prepared.

Franz Schubert composed the signature Rondo in A major at the age of nineteen. He already had his first singing masterpieces, but he remained conservative in instrumental chamber music, intended to be performed by a family orchestra. In some ways, a similar place in Karol Szymanowski's oeuvre is occupied by the passionate Sonata in D minor Op. 9 — a testament to the masterful mastery of this form during his studies. Ernest Chausson's work, prepared for Eugène Ysaÿe, is only a few years older than her. However, the Frenchman opted for a rhapsodic rather than a classical form, opening up to the listener a unique lyrical story. Afterwards, the Aretuza of Myths, Op. 30 will be played. It is believed that the co-author of Szymanowski's work, whose ninetieth anniversary we celebrate in March, was Paweł Kochański, one of the greatest Polish violinists of the era. The concert will be crowned with Carmen fantasie, created as a result of the creative effort of Franz Waxman — Śląsak with Jewish roots. Even before the war, this artist emigrated to Hollywood, where he gained fame.
