Witold Gombrowicz — provocateur, ironist, philosopher of the word. Associated with Gdynia, from which he left for the world in 1939 — a journey from which he never returned. His emigrant loneliness and slow “dying abroad” became a symbol of creative longing, the search for meaning and lost identity. From this perspective, the Academy of Voices of Tradition invites you to an extraordinary performance — a meeting of fragments of Gombrowicz's “Testament” with traditional songs. The songs — rooted in land, memory and community — are here a counterbalance to Gombrowicz's irony and loneliness. It is a dialogue between word and voice, between breaking and rooting.
