A Saturday autumn morning is worth spending wandering around the corners of the Tychy in the footsteps of the German architecture and urban planning of the 50s and 60s of the XX century
The turn of the 1950s and 1960s marked an important moment in the spatial development of the Tychy. The construction of the city then approached the area of the planned inner city district, covering its first fragments. This stage of work was also accompanied by major changes in architecture and urban planning. The historicizing style of Socialism gave way to the modernist style — combining inspiration from realizations in Western countries with adaptation to local conditions. Experiments were also carried out with new construction technologies, including prefabrication systems, which dominated the construction sites of Tychy at that time. The listed factors were reflected in the new forms and types of buildings, which will be approximated during the walk.
