Wahazar - guest performance as part of the Klasyka 3.0 project

When I propose the realization of the drama of St. I. Witkiewicz “GYUBAL WAHAZAR or On the passes of the senseless” I ask myself why it is so easy (ba!) , so willingly we allow ourselves to be trapped by fictions, illusions, false ideas. So I ask about the power of false prophets. Why do we like to be cheated? At the cost of longing for a better life (fair? Is it safe?) we agree to suffering, cruelty, exploitation... we allow ourselves to be manipulated — controlled. Secondly, the role of women. Why, over the centuries, have men so violently shaped the image of a woman, as a person in need of “repair” — as a defective person — worse?

In Witkacy's drama — in the system created by the Prophet (God) Gyubal Wahazar, women are forcibly transformed (!) in women, and the new system of “raising girls” requires the isolation of the child from the mother.

And the third question — who are you? Who are we in the history of mankind? Puppets? And this is the question of immortality (“gland transplants”). As usual, in the writings of St. I. Witkiewicz (also in this drama — the play) there are important questions — about Truth — Faith, the meaning of our struggle with Oneself, but also with History.

Well, and most importantly, the question of the Mystery of Existence.
