Wajda Re-visions: The Promised Land

A unique screening as part of the series “Wajda Re-visions”, presenting masterpieces of Polish cinema directed by Andrzej Wajda. “The Promised Land” is an epic adaptation of the novel by Władysław Reymont, showing the ruthless world of 19th century Łódź and the birth of capitalism. The story of three young friends — a Pole, a German and a Jew — who join forces to build their own factory becomes a universal study of ambition, greed and the loss of moral values in the name of success.
