About the event
Thirteen-year-old Waleria lives with her strict grandmother in a small town. When a mysterious vampire appears in it, the girl begins to uncover the secrets of her family. She soon discovers that the danger also lies with the adults who are supposed to protect her. “Valeria and the Week of Miracles” by Jaromil Jireš is an iconic coming-of-age tale that combines gothic horror with surreal fantasy. Here the dream is mixed with reality, and the idyllic landscapes become the setting for disturbing events. Delightful pictures and hypnotic music give this story an extraordinary charm, in which beauty is as important as horror.
