Walrus Returns

Celebrate the return of the beloved walrus!

We’re marking the return of the legend of Forest Hill with a special evening of exclusive access to our Nature Gallery ahead of its official reopening to the public on Friday 5 February 2027.

Our Curators, Conservation and Collections Team invite you to be among the first to visit the new gallery, see the progress of our reimagined displays coming to life and welcome the walrus back to the Horniman.

After your tour concludes, you are invited to join us in the Conservatory to enjoy a signature cocktail kindly provided by Babur, another Southeast London favourite and partner during our 125th Anniversary year.

The proceeds of your ticket will support the reopening of the Nature Gallery and will help our teams to add the finishing touches to our new displays.
