Warsaw from the street: Chłodna

Was Chłodna Street... cold? Why was she called “The Cold Lady”? Who came here only for a while, and who lived here all their lives?

Several books were devoted to this one Warsaw street, songs were sung about it, it was repainted on canvases and photographed. You wouldn't recognize her by looking at old photos. What has changed and why?

We invite families with children to workshops dedicated to this unusual street. We will take a walk through the old city plans and a “ride” on the tram along Chłodna from 1935. At the end we will make spatial pop-up postcards using hand-colored archival photographs.
