Does photography always have to be a faithful record of reality? While experimenting with photography, Zdzisław Beksiński was interested in an image that defies documentary precision. His “anti-photography” used distortion, blur and unusual framing, allowing photography to become more than just a record of what is in front of the lens. During the pinhole photography workshop, we will experience a similar way of thinking about the image. Instead of a professional camera, we will use tightly closed cans, light and time. Participants will take photographs on their own, experimenting with movement, exposure time and chance. We will try to look at the well-known reality as if we saw it for the first time... or for the last time.
About the event
The resulting images can be blurry, distorted, out of focus and difficult to decipher — just like fragments of a world that has disintegrated.
There will be some uncertainty, exploring how photography works from scratch and a lot of experimentation.
This is a workshop for those who want to look at photography from a completely different perspective: simpler, more experiential and without the need for professional equipment.
The number of places is limited! Applications are accepted at the address: gsowa@wbp.wroc.pl, in the title please write the name of the workshop or by phone number 71 3352242 (Program Department). There is a first-come, first-served rule. If you cancel the workshop, please send us a message or call.
The event is part of Horror Day 2026 — 12th Lower Silesian Horror Festival. The theme of this year's festival is POSTAPOCALYPSE. The full program of the event is available here HORROR DAY PROGRAM 2026.
