Graphic workshops with Medicine: Reverse Dyeing & Final Custom — Waxing and finishing

We invite you to another series of graphic workshops with the artist Kosmicki (Daniel Kopiec). During the workshops we will work in techniques from the borderline of street art, camera-free photography and design and fashion. Participants will be able to both work on materials provided by Medicine and bring their own clothes that they would like to be upcycled.

The last meeting will be devoted to working with dark fabrics and combining all previously learned techniques. Participants will learn how to create graphics by drawing color out of the material in a controlled manner — instead of adding paint, we will remove it to create a “drawing with light” effect.

In the second part of the workshop, participants will be able to combine selected techniques from previous meetings, e.g. use stencils on a Tie-Dye background, combine spray with reflections of objects or create a multi-layered design on their own clothing. This will be the stage of finalization and personalization of works, the result of which will be fully original clothes.

Daniel KopečGraphic artist, with a professional title obtained in 2022, who already at the age of 21 had the opportunity to work in PAGODE STUDIO on animation for Dawid Podsiadło and Dawid Kwiatkowski. He conducts original graphic workshops on linocut, dry needle and silkscreen printing. On May 19, 2023, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, at the night of museums, he gave a lecture on the visual form of hip-hop entitled “Drip”. Co-organizer of the Art Salon and the exhibition at the Open Art ASP in 2024. Coordinator of the International Graphic Fair in Krakow. Entrepreneur and content creator. Organizer of many author's exhibitions in cooperation with the City of Kraków and the Kraków Library. He cooperates with SMTG in Cracow, ASP Career Office, Bunkrem Sztuki. Distinguished at the Rempex Art Show and Auction in Warsaw. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Minister of Science and Education and the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Author of essays and critical texts about art published in the Literary Sketch Book.
