Grażyna Bąkiewicz — born in 1955 in Łódź. In 1978 she graduated in History at the University of Lodz. During her studies, she conducted research on the interwar press and memoirs written by young people in the 1930s. After obtaining a master's degree in history, she began her studies in journalism, but abandoned it in favor of teaching work. For more than twenty years she worked at the school as a history teacher. After her success in the national fairy tale competition (1985), she took up writing, first for children, then for adolescents and adults. For her debut novel O melba, she received the 1st IBBY Award (Book of the Year 2002).

Workshops within the framework of the task “Picture-word. Komiksowo” co-financed from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture — a state special purpose fund.
