Workshop: Crochet Smile Triggers — Autumn Leaves

Imagine an ordinary autumn day. You come home from work, school, or a walk. The leaves rustle under your shoes, it's getting colder and colder, and all you have to think about is getting home as soon as possible. And suddenly, somewhere on a bench, on a wall or on a residential alley, you notice something unusual. Small, colorful, crochet leaf. Someone left it right here — he didn't lose it, he didn't forget it, but he deliberately gave it to a complete stranger.

Such a trifle will not change the world. However, it can change someone's day. Make you smile, improve your mood, surprise or just remind you that sometimes something nice can happen to us for no reason. And just such small smile triggers we will create during our autumn crochet workshops!

October 27 (Tuesday), from 17:00 to 19:00 we invite you to a meeting, during which we will combine handicrafts with the idea of sharing kindness with completely strangers. This time we will not crochet exclusively for ourselves. Step by step, we will create small, charming autumn leafs-key chains, which will then go out into the world. The finished works will join the worldwide Random Act of Crochet Kindness campaign.

What does this action consist of? Its participants create small crochet items, and then leave them in a public space so that they can be accidentally found by others. These are small gifts without a specific addressee, created in order to give someone unexpected joy.

Our autumn leaves will also be hidden in various places on the surrounding estates. Perhaps one of them will find a child returning from school, someone walking with a dog, a neighbor going shopping, or someone who especially needs a little reason to smile that day.

The workshop will be led by Żaneta Pradel — a crochet enthusiast, known on the web as @by_hand_made_love. During the meeting, there will be time for quiet study, conversation and crocheting together. It is not necessary to be a master or a master craftsman — we will work together, step by step. We provide the necessary materials and warm tea. If you have your own crochets, you can take them with you.
