We invite you to two one-day workshops inspired by Bolesław Prus' “Doll”. From before the screens of cinemas and streaming platforms, we will move... to the theatrical stage.
During the course, we will deal with social themes that Prussia described in the novel and that are equally relevant today.
Both workshops are for everyone: for girls and boys, women and men, and people who do not want to close themselves in these categories. The topics we raise concern all of us, regardless of gender. Both love and imposed roles are worth talking together, because they concern each of us. You can attend one workshop or both.
CONTROL FREAK, or red flags in the relationship (16.10.2026 17-21)
A workshop inspired by the plot of Stanisław Wokulski from “Doll”, who gives everything to his beloved and calls it love, although closer to obsession. This workshop asks where care ends and control begins, and why it's so hard to notice when we're inside. Through theatrical exercises, games with borders and short scenes, we will see what red flags look like and what the person who experiences them feels. We will play conversations with someone who is losing himself, looking for words that support, not hurt. Finally, we turn all red flags into green flags and create a common code for a healthy relationship. You will leave feeling that boundaries are a natural thing, and a healthy relationship can look very different than in melodramas.
The workshops are for people of all ages, whether you already have love behind you or just ahead of you. You don't have to know how to read or have theatre experience. If you want, come with someone close to you, because it's always better together.
I WILL NOT BE YOUR LALA, or about the social roles of women (23.10.2026 17-21)
Workshop inspired by the character of Izabela Łęcka, who impresses with her beauty, but her life was planned in advance by others. This workshop is a meeting about the expectations we have inherited and about all the “you should”, “don't fit” and “be nice” that over time become our voice. There is a bit of rebellion, laughter and tenderness towards oneself in it, as well as curiosity about what life would be like without strings. We will look at the roles that society imposes on women and the “strings” that family, media, work and tradition are attracted to. You will leave with the feeling that you can choose for yourself, and with a slogan that is worth carrying with you: I will not be anyone's doll. And finally, we will write a joint manifesto of not being a doll.
The workshop is for everyone: for girls and boys, women and men, of all ages. The roles imposed on women affect entire families and communities, so everyone has something to say and hear here. You don't have to know how to read or have theatre experience. If you want, come with someone close to you, because it's always better together.
