Father Luitpold Löwenhaupt buys a live goose for the upcoming Christmas, which is to be turned into a fat Christmas roast. It should be stored in the potato cellar until the festival. The three children in the family baptize the gosling with the name Gustje and lovingly care for the animal. Gustje is actually doing well in the cellar. Only little Peterle disagrees and stubbornly insists that Gustje be allowed to sleep in the children's room. Peterle and Gans are already inseparable when their father wants to send Gustje into goose heaven just before Christmas. Gustje screams, mother and children cry, and the father invents an evil ruse. Because he can hardly wait to finally get the roast on his plate...
About the event
But who triumphs in the end? The goose, of course — otherwise this wouldn't be an enjoyable Christmas story!
Guylaine Hemmer and Thomas Sutter tell the famous story individually, sometimes choral, sometimes with songs and let their instruments — guitar, percussion and melodic instruments — sound.
