Wenzel: Songs & Lyrics

Always new. Always surprising. Every concert is an adventure. Wenzel is a master of improvisation. Completely unknown songs appear out of nowhere, set themselves apart from what was thought to have long been forgotten and spin a new web of sense and nonsense with the hits of this poet.

Wenzel, washed with all the water on stage, with all the sweat of orgiastic concerts, remains astonishingly true to himself in whatever profession he is currently working in. He seems to be driven by an indomitable greed for life, happiness and laughter. He enchants his listeners with gestures, looks and the sound of his voice, tanned by whiskey and smoke, with melancholy and intoxication. The accordion, guitars and piano change under his hands depending on his mood.

It is always the moment that is celebrated, these irretrievable moments of a life, of love, of a concert. Wenzel is afraid of nothing. The profane hit is just as important to him as the sad song or the sarcastic couplet. His listeners are the kings. He is the fool. He holds the mirror in front of himself and the audience recognizes himself. Maybe life is a little more bearable this way.
