WERA & NICK

WERA&NICK is a live loop duo from Athens, formed by Polish composer, cellist, vocalist and bassist Weronika Amelia Kijewska (WERA) and Greek multi-instrumentalist, producer and vocalist Nikolas Yiakoumis (Invisible Sounds). Their music is created at the junction of alternative, indie, trip-hop and bass music, combining the organic sound of the instruments with rhythm, space and used electronic beats. Artists create from closeness and mutual feeling.

WERA brings to the project a distinctive cello sound, ethereal vocals and an experimental approach to the instrument, developed in her own avant cello trend. Her music draws on indie rock, film and ritual music.

Nikolas, aka Invisible Sounds, grew out of dub, UK bass, trip-hop and system sound culture. In a duet, his guitar explores psychedelic spaces through open and intuitive improvisation. At the same time, it shapes the pulse and dynamics of the rhythmic section, giving it direction and connecting the individual layers into a single organic flow.
Wera and Nick are travelers by nature hungry for places, people and stories that can't be found on any map — encounters that stay for a long time and find their sound in their music over time.

At the same time, he drives the pulse and dynamics of the rhythm section, binding the various sonic layers into a single organic flow.
Wera and Nick are natural wanderers with an appetite for places, people, and unmapped stories — encounters that linger long after and eventually find their resonance in their music.
