When lights replace blacks and convex shapes become concave, art enters spaces of denials, polemics and alternatives.

The negative exhibition presents the works of more than twenty Polish contemporary artists, focused on motifs related to broadly understood negativity. Its area includes paintings and photographs, as well as ceramics, films, graphics, installations, objects, pyrographs and sculptures.

The darkness characteristic of visual negativity permeates not only the presented works, but also fragments of the space of the State Art Gallery. The ubiquitous black is accompanied here by the imprints of the bodies of people, animals and plants, ambivalences of forms and meanings, and carnival inversions in which visual reverses are mixed with politics.

Artists participating in the exhibition: Grzegorz Bibro, Bownik, Andrzej Brzozowski, Rafał Bujnowski, Jakub Czyszoń, Rafał Górczyński, Aneta Grzeszykowska, Anna Kędziora, Wojciech Kujawski, Ewa Kulesza, Dominik Lejman, Diana Lelonek, Karina Marusińska, Krzysztof Mętel, Anna Myszkowiak, Anna Orbaczewska, Joanna Pawlik, Dominika Sadowska, Max Skorwider, Agata Stemerowicz, Marek Wasilewski, Szymon Zwolinski.
