On Tuesday 27 October at 6:30pm at the Centre for Culture and Recreation in Koziegłowy there will be the opening of an exhibition of photographs by Andrzej Ziemkowski — biologist-cytologist and member of the Wielkopolska Association of Plastic Artists.
The artist is mainly engaged in abstract photography, as well as macro-, nature and infrared photography. In his works he uses digital image processing, including mirror symmetry and collage. The starting point is often fragments of nature — tree trunks, knots or roots — which, thanks to multiple reflections and layering, create unusual, sometimes anthropomorphic or architectural forms.
Andrzej Ziemkowski's works have been presented at numerous exhibitions and photo competitions throughout Poland. The artist is a laureate of many awards and distinctions, including the Silver Medal of the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland. In 2025 he received the Artistic Award and the medal “For Merit for Polish Culture”.
The vernissage will be an opportunity to meet the author and get to know his original perspective on nature, photography and the possibilities of digital image creation.
Patronage: Wielkopolska Association of Plastic Artists.
