On October 23, 2026, the exhibition “Game with fate” will open at the Museum of History of Kielce. History of the Rotman Caders”. The exhibition will be devoted to the fate of the Rotman Kadera family, with a special focus on the figure of Henryk Rotman Kadera — a legionary and independence activist, and at the same time an amateur photographer who for several decades documented events in his hometown and the beauty of Kielce.
The premise of the exhibition will be to show the individual fates of the representatives of the Kielce family against the background of the history of Kielce and Poland in the 20th century.
The starting point for the narrative will be donated in 2023 to the Museum of History of Kielce an extremely valuable collection of over 1800 objects, including photographs, documents, decorations, weapons and everyday objects. They will be combined with archival materials and historical analysis, which will allow to show the individual experiences of the family in the context of key events of the 20th century — the struggle for independence in 1914-1918, 1920, the Second World War, the Holocaust, the period of Stalinism and the realities of the Polish People's Republic.
The exhibition will be enhanced by hundreds of unique photographs from almost a hundred years ago, which capture not only the landscapes and monuments of the Kielce region, but also the inhabitants during daily activities and field work.
The exhibition will be accompanied by an album release.
