“Nine moons over a cotton field. Łódź and Central Asia” is a story about cotton, work and the changes of the world in the modern era. But also about the relationships between remote regions, the experiences of women and the costs of monoculture cultivation and industrial production that people and the environment have incurred.
In the exhibition you will find archival photographs and propaganda materials, avant-garde films and works of art, as well as contemporary artistic interventions. We will look at what lies behind the history of cotton and its role in building our city.
