Maciej Szczurek-Maksymiuk — born in 1982 in Krakow. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the studio of Prof. Leszek Misiak. The dynamics and expression in his paintings contrast with calm and silence, and emptiness is in them as important an element of the picture as filling. A frequent motif in his work is flowers and plant elements not presented for themselves (and especially for their beauty), but as a carrier of the idea of transience and the Baroque “impermanence of the things of this world”.
The exhibition will present paintings from the years: 2006-2026.
