As part of the 17th Themerson Festival, the Płock Art Gallery invites you to the opening of an exhibition of Marek Sobczyk's paintings. The exhibition consists of several dozen works relating to the work of other artists, the history of art and phenomena occurring in contemporary culture. A large part of the paintings was created as part of the project “Museum in quotation marks”, which began in 2006 with a show in Zachęta — National Gallery of Art.
The presentation at the Płock Art Gallery is a continuation of the exhibition from 2025 shown during last year's festival at the Płock Centre for Culture and Art.
Marek Sobczyk (born 1955) is a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (diploma in Stefan Gierowski's studio). Painter, shareholder, graphic designer, art theorist, educator, publisher. Winner of the Jan Cybis Prize. Member of Gruppa — one of the most important Polish artistic formations of the 1980s.
The exhibition can be viewed until 15.11.2026 (Tuesday — Sunday) from 10.00 to 18.00.
