ul. Marszałka Focha 5, Bydgoszcz

The Marriage of Figaro (La Folle Journée ou le Mariage de Figaro) is a five-act play by Pierre Beaumarchais (1784), the second in turn, after Cyrillic of Seville, a work depicting the vicissitudes of Count Almaviva and his servant Figaro, which inspired Mozart to compose an opera under The title itself. An operatic ideal - the best possible libretto, a masterful script, fast-paced action, the subtlety of human portraits rendered by musical themes: Mozart transformed the scheme of a buff opera into an unsurpassed model of an opera performance.

About the event

There is no serious opera theatre in the world today that does not have the Marriage of Figaro in its repertoire. Mozart's masterpiece returned to the repertoire of the Bydgoszcz Opera after 38 years of its previous performance. The scene looks like from the paintings of Baroque masters: the decorations contain quotes of genre painting, landscape painting, floral motifs. And the costumes? Every count would dream of having such a surdute or hunting suit, and every peasant woman would like to decorate her head with an idyllic flowered hat with sashes. The singers present themselves wonderfully; they all have great joy in singing Mozart. This is also the idea that guides the filmmakers: to convey joy to the audience through the beauty of music and images.

How to outsmart the powerful of this world? How do you cut their noses while avoiding revenge? It is necessary to resort to an intelligent intrigue: to injure pride and at the same time knock out of their hands the weapon that they would like to reach us. Here we meet our good friends from Cyrulik of Seville: Rosina, now neglected by her husband Countess, Count Almaviva - today he overtakes many girls, Figar - a former Cyrillic of Seville, now in the service of the Count, on the eve of his wedding. Dr. Bartolo is waiting for the opportunity to take revenge (he has not forgotten that Rosina was “cleaned” from his nose). There is also Don Basilio - a music teacher. It is they, along with Figar's fiancée Susanna, the loving Cherub, the love-thirsty Marcelina and others who will go through the vicissitudes before Figaro's wedding takes place.
