What did the wedding really look like, which changed Polish culture forever? What did the bride's brother and at the same time the direct protagonist of Wyspiański's drama remember years later? We invite you to another, unusual meeting on the occasion of the anniversary of Television Kraków: “Take a look” — Kraków in the archives of TVP3 Kraków!
This time we will move to the atmospheric Bronowice Małe — straight to the legendary Rydlówka. It was here, in November 1900, that the famous wedding of the poet Lucjan Rydel with Jadwiga Mikołajczykówna took place, which inspired Stanisław Wyspiański to write the archdrama “The Wedding”. During the next meeting we will present a unique, archival reportage “W Rydlówka” from the old series “Kraków little-known”.
This show is a real treat for lovers of history and literature. In the archival material we will see the Rydlówka from the time when the Regional Museum of Young Poland was born in it, but above all we will hear the voice of a living witness of those events. The film features 80-year-old Jakub Mikołajczyk — the bride's brother and an authentic prototype of Kuba's character from Wyspiański's drama — who shares his personal, extremely vivid memories of a memorable wedding in front of the camera.
It is a unique opportunity, almost on the anniversary of the wedding, to touch the real history, learn about Krakow legends and see unique treasures hidden in the archives of Krakow television.
