Reading the play “When I lost myself the only scent I could smell was you” by Zuzanna Pajowska
Semi-final play of the 3rd edition of the Tadeusz Różewicz Dramaturgic Prize Competition.
“The text was inspired by an attempt to describe the olfactory planes, because at some point in her life my mother permanently lost her sense of smell. So I tried to find the right tactics and tools to describe smells with words, atmosphere and immersion. When I Lost Myself [...] focuses on playing with the perspective of the person speaking, on capturing the drama of the breakup of a love relationship using aspects of the description of the planes of smell instead of the traditional narratives used in this type of melodramatic genre, and at the same time works with the conventions of searching for dimensions of queerness in the story of lesbian love,” says the author.
director: Olga Pabisekcast: Paulina Józefowska, Filip Maryniak, Aleksandra Stasik
After the performative reading, there will be a meeting with the artists, which will be led by Joanna Oparek — representative of the Programme Council of the Tadeusz Różewicz Dramaturgy Award.
